Salmon River “River of No Return” Lodge to Lodge Wilderness Rafting Trip

Here is a trip that offers the best of both worlds: running the Wild Salmon River, “River of No Return” by day and experiencing the comforts of staying in a different lodge each night.
This is an excellent way to access the remote section of the Salmon River, “River of No Return” wilderness and still be able to enjoy sleeping in a bed each night. You will also be able to experience each lodge’s unique atmosphere, including resident hosts, canyon history and local folklore. Besides enjoying the roof over your head, you will also be pampered by tasty meals, friendly hosts, experienced guides and an option for a hot shower each evening.
Over five days you will raft 56 miles on the beautiful Main Salmon River. You will have the opportunity to soak in the sun and the gorgeous views, while making stops to hike, fish, or just relax on the beautiful, clean, mosquito free beaches. Wonderful lunches are prepared riverside by your fantastic and darn friendly guides.
Night 1: June 30, 2016
Pre-trip lodging is recommended at the Syringa Lodge, located on the mountains overlooking the beautiful Salmon River valley. Mark will meet the group for a pre-trip orientation at 6:30 pm. Then the group will have an opportunity to enjoy the evening at one of our fantastic local restaurants. The following morning Syringa Lodge will provide a tasty breakfast prior to Mark picking you up for a drive to the put-in where you will begin your spectacular Salmon River rafting trip.
Night 2-4: July 1-5
Wind your way down the Salmon River, which boasts being the 2nd deepest canyon in North America, second only to the Grand Canyon yet deeper than the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. Experience warm water, huge beaches beautiful canyon walls, wild bighorn sheep, raptors, river otters and the many other shy, yet curious resident wildlife as you explore our backyard.
We will stop often and share experiences and canyon secrets, fish as little or as much as you want, and make your trip as comfortable as possible. We will have the luxury to stay at different lodges each night, such as River of No Return Lodge, Arctic Creek Lodge, China Bar Lodge, White Water Ranch, Mackay Bar Ranch and Shepp Ranch. Each lodge provides a unique environment where you will have wonderful meals and a relaxing place to rest.
Morning of Day 5 – Enjoy a beautiful backcountry flight back to Salmon or Boise after a wonderful breakfast at the famous Mackay Bar Ranch.
